Video Archive- getting used to your face on video

One of the things that stops peeps from getting in front of the camera is the dislike of what their face ACTUALLY looks like on screen.

We’re used to looking in the mirror when our face is static and without movement. So as soon as we see our face moving, our expressions, the way our nose scrunches up when we say something, we get all ‘eeeeuuuw, I don’t like that AT ALL’

It takes a wee bit of practice and doing quite a bit of video before you’ll entirely get used to your face on screen. The video below talks about this and gives you an exercise to do to help you get over this and just get on and record some video!!

Video Archive – Inpired Action [from NYC]

This little video was shot in Bryant park, behind the New York City library in Nov 2010, just after I had attended Marie Forleo’s Rich Happy & Hot event.

I was inspired to talk about how taking the first step toward a goal is the best thing you can do and that from there all sorts of great things will happen. Oh and if you could help me wish for my long hair again, that would be fabulous!!

PS at the end of the video I mention the ‘Sassy Minx Club’ well that was it’s first incarnation, it’s now the Sassy Minx Society and you can join by popping your details into the form on the top right of the home page or go here

Video Archive – using titles & fonts in video to express yourself

This little video from the archive was my first attempt to play with GFX / titles as a way in which to express lost love. It was also part of my 31 days of Gratitude project I did back in Oct 2011.

You may have read ‘lost love’ and thought “oh great, angst and hand wringing, gah” Not this time but had I been so inclined, the whole song would have played with just the title “LOVE SUCKS BALLS” on the screen all the way through.

Now I aint no motion graphics superstar but I did have fun playing with different titles and matching them to the music. I used Final Cut Pro to cut this with just the the inbuilt title tool [I've yet to get the hang of 'Motion'] I continue to work on how to do this better but as with all things, practice and play make perfect.

Music by Adele.
